LAND USE, HOUSING, AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION

The Land Use, Housing, and Historic Preservation Work Group provides recommendations to the Steering Group for the framework, preparation and contents of a plan to prepare for and guide the decision and action process in post-disaster circumstances. This work group will address issues relating to rebuilding priorities, temporary building moratorium on building, reconstruction and repair, non-conforming use policy, County build-back policy, redevelopment in the Coastal High Hazard Area, and mitigation before a disaster to reduce risk from future storms; the use, placement and removal of temporary alternative housing, land acquisition, redevelopment projects that support economic redevelopment, identify priority areas for reducing scale of redevelopment, identify priority redevelopment areas, neighborhood preservation and gentrification issues, affordable housing, historic structures, criteria for temporary uses to be consistent with current and future uses, private property rights potential issues, and landscape management. This work group includes, but not be limited to, the following members or their representatives:

This Work group’s tasks would help to implement Policy 1.1.6., Policy 1.1.8., Policy 1.1.9., Policy 1.1.10., and Policy 1.1.11. of the Coastal Management Element of the Pinellas County Comprehensive Plan.
