ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION

The Environmental Restoration Workgroup makes recommendations to the Steering Group for debris management, coastal/waterway debris removal/pollution, hazardous materials/debris contaminates, wetland/beach restoration, environmental review of temporary sites, and post-disaster management of domestic and wild animals and mitigation of natural resource loss and recreation/cultural activities restored.

The Environmental Restoration Work Group would include, but not be limited to, the following representatives:

• Planning Director
• Public Works and Transportation Director
• Pinellas County Health Department Director
• Emergency Management Director
• Fire/EMS Director (for Hazmat)
• Animal Services Director
• Culture, Education and Leisure Director
• Tampa Bay Estuary Program
• Agency on Bay Management
• Florida Coastal Island Sanctuaries
• Sierra Club
• Southwest Florida Water Management District
• Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
• Florida Department of Environmental Protection
• United States Coast Guard
• Barrier Islands Government Council

This workgroup’s task would help to implement Policy 1.1.4., Policy 1.1.5., Policy 1.1.7., Policy 1.1.9., and Policy 1.1.10 of the Coastal Management Element. (See Appendix A)
