ENVIRONMENTAL RESTORATION
The Environmental Restoration Workgroup makes recommendations to the Steering Group for debris management, coastal/waterway debris removal/pollution, hazardous materials/debris contaminates, wetland/beach restoration, environmental review of temporary sites, and post-disaster management of domestic and wild animals and mitigation of natural resource loss and recreation/cultural activities restored.
The Environmental Restoration Work Group would include, but not be limited to, the following representatives:
- Planning Director
- Public Works and Transportation Director
- Pinellas County Health Department Director
- Emergency Management Director
- Fire/EMS Director (for Hazmat)
- Animal Services Director
- Culture, Education and Leisure Director
- Tampa Bay Estuary Program
- Agency on Bay Management
- Florida Coastal Island Sanctuaries
- Sierra Club
- Southwest Florida Water Management District
- Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
- Florida Department of Environmental Protection
- United States Coast Guard
- Barrier Islands Government Council
This workgroup’s task would help to implement Policy 1.1.4., Policy 1.1.5., Policy 1.1.7., Policy 1.1.9., and Policy 1.1.10 of the Coastal Management Element. (See Appendix A)
