"The key to harnessing sustainable growth is integrating urban design back into master plans, local land development codes and restrictive covenants, as well as linking land use with a systematic regional mix of roads and rail transit. In this context, Scott and his colleagues marry place making with performance-based mechanisms to unleash the genius of the market. These approaches have earned Scott and his colleagues the Texas American Planning Association awards for Best Current Planning and Best Project Plan."
